The 4th China Africa Civilization Dialogue Conference was held in the northeastern Egyptian city of Ismailia on the 16th, with the theme of "The Modern Value of Classical Wisdom - Enlightenment and Mirror of Ancient Chinese and African Civilizations to Contemporary Global Challenges". Over a hundred renowned experts, scholars, diplomatic envoys, media reporters, and others from China and Africa attended the event. Gao Xiang, President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said in his opening speech that the theme of this session of the China Africa Dialogue on Civilizations is not only an important practice of implementing the spirit of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation in 2024, but also a vivid footnote to the implementation of the global civilization initiative, and more importantly, a gift of wisdom to the construction of an all-weather China Africa community of common destiny in the new era. China and Africa have not only become models of South South cooperation and the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, but also declared to the world that developing countries are fully capable of co creating a new form of human civilization with an independent attitude and forging a modernization path different from the Western model. Gao Xiang proposed three initiatives to deepen mutual learning between Chinese and African civilizations: tracing the origins of civilization and using classical wisdom to inspire modern governance; Gathering the power of innovation and promoting development practice through civilized dialogue; Take on the responsibility of the times and reshape the narrative of civilization with the joint efforts of China and Africa. Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang stated that this conference adheres to the spirit of jointly addressing global challenges through the exchange and mutual learning of ancient civilizations between China and Africa. It once again reflects the high degree of alignment between China and Africa's views on civilization, fully demonstrating the firm pace and historical responsibility of China and Africa in jointly implementing the global civilization initiative. In the new stage of building an all-weather community with a shared future in China and Africa, China is willing to continue to work with African countries to strengthen the awareness of a community with a shared future, deepen mutual learning between Chinese and African civilizations, jointly address regional challenges, work together to uphold international fairness and justice, and inject more certainty into the peace, stability, and development of China, Africa, and the world.
