On the 20th, the AG600 aircraft, which was independently developed by China for the first time in accordance with China's civil aviation airworthiness regulations, was awarded the model certificate by the Civil Aviation Administration of China in Beijing, marking that the world's largest civil amphibious aircraft with takeoff weight has passed strict testing and verification, and the development has achieved complete success, obtaining the "access certificate" for entering the market. The AG600 aircraft, codenamed "Kunlong", is the first large-scale special purpose aircraft developed in China to meet the urgent needs of forest firefighting and water rescue. When carrying out forest firefighting tasks, it can draw 12 tons of water from the water surface within 20 seconds, and can make multiple trips between the water source and the fire scene to extinguish the fire. The AG600 aircraft has been officially applying for a type certificate since 2012, and has gone through important moments such as the first flight on land, the first flight on water, the first flight at sea, and the comprehensive completion of the approved test flight project. Now, it has finally completed the final battle of the approval process. The successful development of the AG600 aircraft is a 'big collaboration' and 'big battle' under the new national system At the certification ceremony, Huang Lingcai, the chief designer of the AG600 series of China Aviation Industry Group, stated in an interview with Science and Technology Daily that 22 provincial-level administrative regions, 296 enterprises and institutions, and 16 universities in China have formed a joint research and development team, innovatively forming the core technology system of China's large amphibious aircraft, constructing a "small core, large cooperation" research and development model, and establishing a design, production, system matching, test flight, and support service system for large amphibious aircraft. This has enabled China to have the technical and industrial capabilities to independently develop large amphibious aircraft, filling the domestic gap. Looking back on the little moments when our development team accompanied and cared for the AG600 aircraft from blueprint to airworthiness, and worked tirelessly day and night to ensure the smooth certification of the model, I am not only moved, but also grateful Huang Lingcai recalled the moments of fighting side by side with the team with tears in his eyes. "Today is a milestone that embodies the hard work of countless people, and it is also the first page of a new chapter. In the future, we will continue to double our efforts for the practical application of AG600 aircraft and strive tirelessly to improve the national emergency rescue system." Next, China Aviation Industry Group will accelerate the mass production and delivery of AG600 aircraft, continue to strengthen operational capabilities, achieve normalized emergency response, continuously improve aviation emergency rescue equipment and service systems, and fully support the construction of an aviation power, a safe China, and a strong maritime country.
