On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the 9th Sino Vietnamese Border Defense Friendly Exchange Event will be held from April 11th in relevant areas and ports in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Lang Son Province, Vietnam. The border defense friendly exchange activity is a concrete measure to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and countries in China and Vietnam. It was first held in 2014 and has played a positive role in maintaining security, stability, and prosperous development in the border areas of the two countries. Compared to previous events, this event has extended its time span to one week and has a more diverse schedule, including joint medical consultations between military medical personnel, joint patrols in the Beibu Gulf between the navies of the two countries, and cultural exchanges between border residents of the two countries. The joint free clinic was launched simultaneously in China and Vietnam from the 11th to the 13th. The medical team composed of medical personnel from both armies adopted methods such as on-site consultations and home visits, receiving more than 3100 border residents, providing more than 1300 free examinations, and distributing more than 2000 boxes of drugs. The cultural exchange among border residents mainly takes the form of artistic performances, sports competitions, and friendly village activities. The Vietnamese naval fleet participating in the 38th joint patrol of the Beibu Gulf between China and Vietnam arrived in Beihai, Guangxi on the morning of the 13th and was warmly welcomed by the Chinese side. This is the first visit of a Vietnamese naval fleet to the North Sea. After docking, officers and soldiers from both sides visited each other's ships, exchanged professional skills, shared training experiences, and conducted cultural and sports activities such as tug of war and ball games, further enhancing understanding and deepening friendship. According to the plan, the naval fleets of both sides set sail on the 16th to carry out a joint patrol mission in the Beibu Gulf. (New Society)
