Peking University announces the addition of its first undergraduate major in China, "Digital Governance," by 2025

Recently, Peking University released a public notice on the addition of undergraduate majors for the year 2025. In 2025, the school plans to add three majors, including "Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Biostatistics Direction)", "Digital Governance", and "Business Administration (Digital Economy Management Direction)". Among them, "digital governance" is a new major outside the directory. According to public information, the "Digital Governance" major is based on the profound transformation and complex challenges of national governance and global governance in the digital age. Its aim is to conduct in-depth research on the systemic changes brought by digital technology to national governance and global governance systems, capabilities, rules, and public goods supply. It aims to cultivate composite talents with a global perspective, theoretical depth, and technical capabilities, enabling them to systematically understand and study the structural changes and cutting-edge issues of global governance under the digital wave.
