Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation released the "Guidelines for Risk Prevention and Control of Bacillus cereus in Infant Formula Milk Powder Production Enterprises" and the "Guidelines for Risk Prevention and Control of Cronobacter in Infant Formula Milk Powder Production Enterprises" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guidelines"), promoting infant formula milk powder production enterprises to implement their main responsibilities for food safety, strengthen relevant risk prevention and control technical guidance, and enhance their ability to control food safety risks. Bacillus cereus is a common foodborne pathogen, and some strains can produce enterotoxins. It has strong heat resistance and is difficult to kill, making it an important indicator for risk prevention and control of infant formula milk powder; Cronobacter is a foodborne opportunistic pathogen that poses a great threat to infants aged 0-6 months, especially premature infants, low birth weight infants, or immunocompromised infants. The "National Food Safety Standard for Limits of Pathogenic Bacteria in Prepackaged Foods" (GB 29921-2021) stipulates that Cronobacter should not be detected in infant formula foods aged 0-6 months. The "Guidelines" apply the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), based on the basic characteristics of Bacillus cereus and Cronobacter, and combined with the characteristics of dry and wet processes in the production of infant formula milk powder. It systematically analyzes the possible risk input pathways, process links, and production operations that may cause pollution in raw materials, personnel, equipment, and the environment. Within the framework of good production practices, it proposes risk prevention and control principles, provides targeted risk monitoring plans and risk prevention and control measures, and provides guidance on key procedures such as pollution investigation, correction, and removal for enterprises to refer to and use based on their own actual situation. The Guide combines professionalism and practicality, providing internal management tools for infant formula milk powder production enterprises to accurately identify risks and effectively prevent and control risks. It helps enterprises further improve their food safety risk control mechanisms, enhance their risk control capabilities, and promote the high-quality development of the infant formula milk powder industry. The Guidelines are the first batch of food safety risk prevention and control guidelines issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation for specific risk factors. (New Society)
