The consumer associations in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region have found in consumer consultations and complaints that some illegal elements, with the purpose of illegal profit, use "agent full refund", "rights protection refund", and "policy upgrade" as bait to encourage and induce consumers to entrust them to handle the refund business on their behalf. Under the guise of "agency rights protection", they make malicious complaints, aiming to demand refund fees or obtain other improper benefits, forming the trap of "refund black products". Recently, consumer associations in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region jointly issued a consumption warning. The Beijing Tianjin Hebei Consumer Association stated that returning insurance products after purchase is the legitimate right of policyholders and a normal part of insurance consumption behavior within the contractual framework. The "withdrawal of insurance black products" not only disrupts the order of the insurance market, but also seriously infringes on the legitimate rights and interests of consumers. The three local consumer associations remind that "false promises to induce insurance withdrawal" is one of the common means of "black industry insurance withdrawal". In addition, during the policy cancellation process, consumers are required to provide sensitive information such as their ID card, bank card, and policy number. Criminals may use this information to carry out fraud, reselling, and even extortion. Some consumers are induced to participate in illegal financial management or purchase false insurance products after surrendering their insurance, resulting in secondary losses. There is also a new type of scam called "policy upgrade" that should be alerted. Some criminals impersonate insurance company employees and lure consumers into swiping their cards to transfer money or apply for policy loans under the pretext of "policy reinstatement" and "upgrade rebate", and then disappear without a trace after the payment is made. The three local consumer associations remind consumers to correctly understand the role of insurance, enhance their awareness of prevention and discernment, not easily believe false promises, and report behaviors such as demanding payment of intermediary fees, "returning old and investing new", exchanging for "high-yield" products, and signing unequal agreements in a timely manner. In addition, consumers should carefully handle insurance surrender according to their own actual needs, which can be handled through the official customer service hotline of insurance companies, official websites, official account, service counters and other formal channels, rather than through third-party agencies or individuals.
