Chinese experts recently made a speech at the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, pointing out that China has established a multi-level and cross sectoral child protection system and has effectively guaranteed children's rights through various measures. China actively collaborates with other developing countries to promote the protection of children's rights through social organization cooperation, and helps implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Solong Zhuoma, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Religious Studies at the China Tibetology Research Center, spoke during an interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the issue of violence against children on the 12th. He stated that violence against children remains an urgent global human rights issue, seriously endangering their physical and mental health and comprehensive development. The international community urgently needs to take more urgent and effective action, and countries should actively implement the content of global sustainable development goals on child protection and increase investment. In response to this issue, China has established a multi departmental collaborative "protective net" for children that covers legal, medical, and psychological support to effectively safeguard children's rights. Tang Yingxia, Deputy Director of the Human Rights Research Center and Associate Professor at the Law School of Nankai University, stated in an interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Privacy Issues on the 12th that the rapid development of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence has brought new risks and challenges to children's rights. China has established a relatively complete legal system in legislation, judiciary, and corporate compliance. In addition to the general norms on privacy rights in the Constitution and Civil Code, special protection principles for children's personal information have been established in laws such as the Law on the Protection of Minors and the Law on the Protection of Personal Information; The Supreme People's Procuratorate released a series of guiding cases on the theme of public interest litigation for the protection of children's rights in 2022; 93.3% of the applications developed by the top ten digital enterprises in China have established dedicated child privacy protection policies in their privacy policies. Liu Yong, a researcher at the China Association for International Exchange, stated at the annual seminar on children's rights on the 13th that in recent years, Chinese social organizations have actively cooperated with other developing countries and are committed to jointly implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. In practical application, Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences has pioneered non radiation percutaneous intervention technology, which safely and efficiently provides free congenital heart disease screening and surgical treatment for children in Cambodia, Laos and other countries on a self-developed mobile surgical cart, achieving good results. The International Exchange Promotion Association, Beijing Pinglan Public Welfare Foundation, China Rural Development Foundation and other non-governmental organizations will cooperate with Fuwai Hospital to donate mobile surgical vehicles to countries such as Tanzania and Indonesia, strengthen cooperation with local medical institutions, and provide free screening and treatment for cardiovascular disease surgery or other simple birth defect surgeries for local children.
