Shanghai Hongqiao Airport seized over 50000 cigarettes and heated cigarettes in total

Recently, during the supervision of inbound flights, customs officers at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport discovered a passenger acting suspiciously on site. The passenger chose a no declaration channel and evaded luggage inspection multiple times. After customs officers opened the box for inspection, a total of 2440 cigarettes, 51800 heated cigarettes, and 13 electronic cigarette lighters were seized. Tobacco products are restricted by the state from entering the country. According to relevant laws and regulations, inbound passengers are allowed to bring 400 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 20 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco into the country duty-free. Passengers entering from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region are allowed to bring 200 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 10 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco into the country duty-free.
