The Nanhai Temple is not only one of the important birthplaces of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, but also a spiritual totem of Lingnan culture. The folk belief and custom "Boluodan" (also known as "Nanhai Shendan"), centered around the Nanhai Temple, has been passed down for thousands of years and was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2011. It is reported that on the first day of the temple fair on March 10th, the "Bell and Drum Singing Together, Sacrificing to the Sea and Praying for Blessings" ceremony will kick off with grand drum music and dance, recreating the solemn scene of ancient sea festivals and expressing prayers for good weather and peace for the country and the people. On the "birthday" of March 12, the South Square of the South China Sea Temple and Tongxin Lake will perform two core ceremonies, namely, "Four Villages Meeting, Five Sons Chasing the King" and "Loong Boat Chasing the King". Through the way of folk tour, the linkage between water and land, with the help of the momentum of folk tour and the ingenious linkage between water and land, the charm of cultural treasures with the South China Sea Temple as the soul will be displayed.
