The relevant departments of China, Myanmar, and Thailand recently held a joint ministerial coordination meeting in Bangkok, Thailand to combat transnational telecommunications fraud crimes. They exchanged in-depth views on further joint efforts to combat transnational telecommunications fraud crimes and reached a series of consensuses. The meeting pointed out that the current situation of transnational telecommunications network fraud is severe, greatly endangering regional economic development and social stability, and seriously infringing on the legitimate rights and interests of citizens of all countries. The relevant departments of China, Myanmar, and Thailand should further deepen international law enforcement cooperation, increase crackdown efforts, actively and effectively respond to the high incidence of such crimes, minimize the living space of criminal gangs, jointly eradicate cancer, and resolutely protect the personal and property safety of citizens of all countries. The meeting emphasized that this meeting is an important milestone achievement in the joint law enforcement cooperation between China, Myanmar, and Thailand to combat transnational telecommunications fraud crimes. The three parties should deeply implement the consensus of jointly cracking down on telecommunications network fraud crimes, establish a normalized coordination mechanism, strengthen information sharing, continue to carry out repatriation work and improve processes, continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of the crackdown, and strengthen law enforcement cooperation with other countries to jointly maintain regional peace and tranquility. It is understood that the relevant departments of China, Myanmar and Thailand have recently carried out a series of joint actions against transnational wire fraud crimes, and successfully repatriated more than 620 Chinese fraud related suspect in Myawady, Myanmar.
