On February 17th, the new semester officially began in primary and secondary schools in Urumqi, Xinjiang. Second grade students from the 13th Primary School in the city played chess and Rubik's Cube in the classroom during break time. Starting from the spring semester of 2025, the physical education and health curriculum for grades one to nine of compulsory education in Xinjiang will be adjusted to one class per day, with a general break time extended from 10 minutes to 15 minutes.
