The "Trusted Travel Agency Program" digital platform aimed at simplifying visa services for Chinese tourists in South Africa was officially launched on the 12th. According to a statement released by the South African Ministry of Home Affairs, travel agencies included in the program can submit group visa applications for tourists from countries such as China through the platform. These tourists will no longer need to go to the South African embassy, fill out forms or wait in line, and can obtain visas within 3 days. South African Tourism Minister Patricia Delile issued a statement on the same day, saying that the improvement of the visa system will attract more tourists to South Africa, help promote economic growth, and create employment opportunities. The South African Ministry of Home Affairs announced in September last year the implementation of the "Trusted Travel Agency Program", aimed at providing fast and simplified visa services for tourists from countries such as China. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced in January this year that South Africa has selected 65 companies with rich operational experience, legal compliance, and good records of cross-border cooperation to be included in the "Trusted Travel Agency Program".
