The film group was rated as exemplary organization by the Anhui Armed Police Corps for seven times, and won the third class collective merit for six consecutive years, and the second class collective merit in 2000. During his military service, Xia Dongdong took over this curved pole and became the 10th leader of the "Pole Film Group". After retiring, Xia Dongdong heard some elderly people say during a community organized movie watching event that when they were young, the village often screened outdoor movies. Nowadays, due to limited mobility and restricted locations, it is difficult to watch a red movie regularly, which is regrettable. Upon hearing the words of the elderly, Xia Dongdong conceived the idea of establishing a mobile film screening team.
