The integration of culture and tourism focuses on exploring regional culture

2025-02-12

Currently, the integration of culture and tourism has become a trend. The integration of culture and tourism not only injects profound cultural connotations into the tourism industry, but also provides a broad platform for cultural inheritance and innovation. In the process of integrating culture and tourism, excavating regional culture is the key. With the continuous increase in people's demand for tourism experience, traditional and single tourism models are no longer sufficient. Nowadays, tourists pay more attention to experiencing the unique cultural charm of the local area during their travels, pursuing personalized and in-depth experiences. Therefore, exploring regional culture has gradually become the core competitiveness of cultural tourism integration. Some historical and cultural cities, such as Pingyao and Lijiang, have created unique cultural and tourism brands through in-depth exploration and protection of regional culture such as ancient city architecture and folk culture. Tourists strolling through ancient streets and alleys can not only appreciate the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties, but also experience the local traditional folk atmosphere. However, it should also be noted that there are still some issues in the process of integrating culture and tourism. In some regions, the exploration of regional culture is not deep enough, resulting in a lack of cultural connotation and uniqueness in tourism products; Some places have neglected the protection of cultural heritage during the development process, excessively commercialized, and destroyed regional culture. To solve these problems and achieve high-quality development of cultural and tourism integration, multiple efforts are still needed: strengthening planning and design is a prerequisite. We need to conduct in-depth research on the unique cultural characteristics such as local history and culture, sort out and formulate cultural and tourism development plans, clarify the theme positioning and functional layout of cultural and tourism projects. Emphasis should be placed on integrating regional culture into every aspect of tourism projects, from the planning and construction of scenic spots to the design and development of tourism products, from the decoration style of hotels to the unique features of catering dishes, all of which should reflect local cultural elements. Like the Tang Dynasty Night City in Xi'an, Tang Dynasty cultural elements are fully integrated into the planning and design, creating a magnificent scene through various forms such as light shows and sculptures. Promoting public participation in joint construction and management is key. Effective public participation platforms should be established in various regions to encourage local residents to participate in the construction and management of cultural and tourism projects. As cultural inheritors and guardians, the participation of residents can make cultural and tourism projects closer to life, reality, vitality, and infectiousness. Residents can participate in the promotion and publicity of cultural and tourism projects through cultural activities, volunteer services, and other means. For example, the Earthen Building in Fujian Province Scenic Area encourages local residents to participate in homestay operation and cultural display activities, so that tourists can experience the culture of Tulou and feel the life breath of local residents. Further highlighting regional characteristics and exploring cultural connotations is the key. Each region has its own unique regional culture, which is a valuable resource for the integration of culture and tourism. We need to deeply explore characteristic elements such as folk customs and create cultural and tourism brands with regional characteristics. Combining modern technology and creativity, presenting regional culture in a more vivid and interesting form to tourists, enhancing their experience and participation. Wuyuan in Jiangxi Province has created a number of ancient village scenic spots by excavating characteristic elements such as Huizhou architectural culture and folk culture, attracting a large number of tourists to come here. In short, only by deeply exploring and fully utilizing local cultural resources such as history and geography, innovating display methods, creating distinctive brands, and enhancing cultural experiences, can more people feel the charm of local culture. Only then can we create cultural and tourism products with unique charm and competitiveness, achieve a positive interaction and coordinated development between culture and tourism, and promote the sustainable development of the cultural and tourism industry.
