During the Spring Festival, the sales revenue of exchanging old for new exceeded 31 billion yuan

On February 10th, the reporter learned from the National Development and Reform Commission that during the Spring Festival, the national consumer goods trade in activity was launched enthusiastically, with sales of 8.6 million units (sets) of cars, home appliances, mobile phones, digital products, etc., and sales exceeding 31 billion yuan. Among them, the sales revenue of home appliances and mobile phones increased significantly by about 166% and 182% year-on-year, effectively enhancing the vitality of the consumer market. On January 8th, with the approval of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the "Notice on Strengthening the Implementation of Large scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Trade in Policies by 2025", which comprehensively deployed the "two new" work in 2025. At the same time, the first batch of 81 billion yuan of ultra long term special treasury bond funds was released at the first time to support the local government to quickly start the work of trade in. The Ministry of Commerce and other departments have timely issued implementation rules for updates and replacements in the fields of automobiles, home appliances, mobile phones, and home decoration consumer goods. Before the Spring Festival holiday, 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government across the country have fully launched the policy of exchanging old for new consumer goods, achieving policy linkage and funding continuity. With the comprehensive implementation of the "two new" policies to expand the scope, the sales of consumer goods in key areas have significantly increased. According to preliminary statistics, the sales of digital products such as automobiles, home appliances, and mobile phones exchanged for new during the Spring Festival period in China were approximately 6.6 billion yuan, 10.5 billion yuan, and 14.1 billion yuan, respectively; Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong and other regions have all achieved sales of over 1.5 billion yuan through trade in programs, ranking among the top in the country. Data shows that during the Spring Festival, TV sales revenue increased by 227% year-on-year. During the Spring Festival period, the search volume for consumer goods exchanged for new on major e-commerce platforms exceeded 40 million times, and the order volume increased by more than 40% year-on-year. The addition of subsidies for purchasing new digital products such as mobile phones is a major highlight of this year's "two new" policy expansion. During this year's Spring Festival, mobile phones have become the main force in the trend of updating. According to preliminary statistics, the sales volume of digital products such as mobile phones in China exceeded 4.5 million units during the Spring Festival period, accounting for 45% of the total sales revenue of consumer goods trade in. According to data from e-commerce platforms, among the digital products such as home appliances and mobile phones that participated in the trade in subsidy during the Spring Festival, mobile phone sales accounted for nearly 70%.
