On February 10th, at the Harbin Asian Winter Games freestyle skiing aerials mixed team final held at Yabuli Ski Resort, the Chinese team consisting of Xu Mengtao, Li Xinpeng, and Qi Guangpu won the gold medal, which was also the first freestyle skiing aerials mixed team gold medal in the history of the Asian Winter Games. Kazakhstan and Japan respectively won silver and bronze medals. Freestyle skiing aerials is one of the most visually appealing events of the Asian Winter Games. The freestyle skiing aerials mixed team event requires each team to consist of three athletes, including at least one athlete of a different gender. The team members' individual scores are added together, and the team with the highest total score wins. The referee scores based on three basic components: aerial movements, form, and landing. The final score of each athlete is determined by adding the total score of each jump and multiplying it by the corresponding difficulty coefficient (D/D). The Chinese freestyle skiing aerials team is the "ace army" in the snow event and is determined to win this mixed team gold medal. The Chinese team, consisting of Xu Mengtao, Li Xinpeng, and Sun Jiaxu, won the championship of the 2024-2025 International Ski Federation Freestyle Skiing Aerial Techniques World Cup at Lake Placid with an absolute advantage. In this match, Winter Olympics champion Qi Guangpu replaced Sun Jiaxu to further increase his chances of winning gold. The aerial skills mixed team final held on the 10th was participated by three teams: China, Kazakhstan, and Japan. The Chinese team will compete with a lineup of "two seniors and one newcomer", featuring Winter Olympics champions Xu Mengtao and Qi Guangpu, as well as 19-year-old Li Xinpeng, who has just won the gold medal in men's freestyle skiing aerials at the Harbin Asian Winter Games. The Chinese team won the championship with a total score of 305.64 points, adding another gold medal to the Chinese sports delegation. (New Society)
