People from China and Bangladesh talk about cooperation and development

The series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh, titled "China Bangladesh Joint Vision: Peace, Stability, and Prosperity," held a seminar in Shanghai on the 23rd. Government officials, experts, and scholars from China and Bangladesh have stated that the two countries should continue to deepen cooperation in various fields and jointly address global challenges. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh, as well as the "China Bangladesh Cultural Exchange Year", presenting new opportunities for the development of bilateral relations. Chen Dongxiao, President of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies, stated that in 2024, the institute will jointly establish the China Research Center with Dhaka University in Bangladesh, with the aim of building it into a platform for knowledge exchange, sharing, and creation. Both sides should continue to strengthen cooperation, seize opportunities, and achieve common development. The diplomatic chief of the interim government of Bangladesh, Tuhid, stated that both Bangladesh and China are committed to maintaining and achieving world peace, stability, and prosperous development. The two countries support each other in international affairs and have set an example of win-win cooperation between nations. Meng hopes to continue deepening cooperation with China in areas such as economy, trade, infrastructure, and human resources in the future. Yang Jiemian, Director of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies, stated that in the context of world multipolarity and regional economic integration, China Bangladesh cooperation has broad prospects. Both countries have their own goals and common missions. Both sides should respect each other's core interests and major concerns, jointly address global challenges, and uphold fairness and justice in the international community. This event is hosted by the Shanghai Institute of International Studies, with experts and scholars from Tongji University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Library, and the Shanghai Institute of International Studies conducting in-depth discussions on topics such as cultural exchanges, regional cooperation, and economic development between China and Bangladesh.
