On January 9th, the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee held a meeting throughout the day to listen to the work reports of the Party leadership groups of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, as well as the work report of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee. General Secretary Xi Jinping of CPC Central Committee presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech.

The meeting pointed out that adhering to the overall leadership of the Party is our greatest political advantage, and adhering to the centralized and unified leadership of CPC Central Committee is the fundamental reason for our continuous victories. It is an important institutional arrangement for adhering to and strengthening the overall leadership of the Party and the centralized and unified leadership of CPC Central Committee that CPC Central Committee listens to the work reports of the Party leadership groups of the aforementioned institutions and the General Office of the CPC Central Committee. Practice has proven that this important institutional arrangement is essential for giving full play to the Party's leading core role in coordinating all aspects, implementing the Party's leadership in all fields, aspects, and links of the cause of the Party and the country, and ensuring consistent goals, coordinated steps, and united strength, and must be adhered to in the long term.

The meeting believed that in the past year, the Party leadership groups of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, firmly safeguarded the authority of CPC Central Committee and its centralized and unified leadership, earnestly implemented the spirit of the Twentieth National Congress of CPC and the second and third plenary sessions of the Twentieth Central Committee of CPC, firmly established the orientation of putting practical work first, strengthened their sense of mission, fulfilled their duties conscientiously, strengthened the construction of the Party leadership groups themselves, and earnestly fulfilled their main responsibilities for comprehensively and strictly governing the Party, making new progress in all aspects of work and making new contributions to promoting the great cause of building a powerful country and national rejuvenation in all respects through Chinese path to modernization.

The meeting also believed that in the past year, under the leadership of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and its Standing Committee, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee fulfilled its duties conscientiously and actively, and did a great deal of work in promoting the implementation of relevant decision-making arrangements of CPC Central Committee, strengthening the construction of inner-Party regulations, guiding the construction and reform of mass organizations, and reducing the burden on the grassroots by combating formalism.

The meeting emphasized that this year is the final year for the implementation of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and also an important year for further comprehensively deepening reforms. The Party leadership groups of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate should adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensively implement the spirit of the Twentieth National Congress of CPC and the second and third plenary sessions of the Twentieth Central Committee of CPC, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "Two Establishments", strengthen the "Four Consciousnesses", firmly uphold the "Four-Sphere Confidence", and resolutely achieve the "Two Upholds". They should adhere to the highest political principle of the centralized and unified leadership of CPC Central Committee, establish and practice a correct view of political achievements, adhere to putting work first, be vigorous and resolute in doing things, overcome difficulties, ensure that all decision-making arrangements of CPC Central Committee are implemented, and show new responsibilities and make new achievements in the new journey of comprehensively promoting Chinese path to modernization.

The meeting also emphasized that in the new year, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee should focus on the deployment requirements of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and its Standing Committee, comprehensively implement the spirit of the Twentieth National Congress of CPC and the second and third plenary sessions of the Twentieth Central Committee of CPC, base on its own responsibilities, strengthen its political capacity, focus on the implementation of key tasks such as the construction of inner-Party regulations, the construction and reform of mass organizations, and reducing the burden on the grassroots by combating formalism, strengthen its own construction in strict accordance with the requirements, and complete all tasks assigned by CPC Central Committee with high quality.（Outlook New Era）
