Türkiye's total exports hit a new high in 2024

Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on the 3rd that the country's total foreign trade exports in 2024 will reach a record 262 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.5% over 2023. Erdogan said in his speech in Istanbul, Türkiye's largest city, that Türkiye's trade deficit in 2024 will be 82.2 billion dollars, about 24.1 billion dollars less than that in 2023. By region, Istanbul has the highest export value in the country, with exports reaching 56.8 billion US dollars in 2024. As part of the economic development strategy, the government of Türkiye will introduce a number of policies to promote exports in 2024, including fiscal incentives. Erdogan said that the Türkiye government has provided a total of about 699 million dollars to support foreign trade exports, and the funds used to stimulate exports will increase to about 933 million dollars in 2025.
