The reporter learned from State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company that on January 1, 2025, with the completion and operation of the Minqin Guoneng 100000 kW wind power project in Gansu Province, the installed capacity of power sources in Gansu Province exceeded 100 million kW, reaching 100.4 million kW. Among them, the installed capacity of new energy reached 64.46 million kilowatts, accounting for 64.2% of the total installed capacity of power sources, further highlighting the dominant position of new energy. State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company introduced that Gansu has a rich variety of energy sources, including thermal power, hydropower, wind power, photovoltaic, biomass power generation and other types of power sources. Compared to the end of the 13th Five Year Plan, the installed capacity of thermal power in Gansu has increased by about 3 million kilowatts, while hydropower has remained relatively stable. The installed capacity of new energy has increased by nearly 41 million kilowatts. Currently, the installed capacity of new energy is about 2.7 times that of the end of the 13th Five Year Plan. The rapid development of new energy is the main factor driving the increase in installed capacity in Gansu Province. In order to meet the large-scale demand for new energy grid connection, State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company has established a provincial-level power supply service agency to ensure timely grid connection and power generation of the "Shagehuang" large-scale wind and photovoltaic base and various batches of new energy projects in the province.
