The Navy's Shandong ship recently completed its final sea training mission for 2024 and successfully returned to a military port. From near sea to far sea, from system to alliance, in the past five years since its entry into service, the Shandong ship has combined its mission and tasks, seized opportunities such as major exercises, and vigorously promoted the generation of comprehensive capabilities, continuously promoting the rapid improvement of comprehensive combat capabilities. The Shandong aircraft carrier is China's first domestically designed, independently built, and independently equipped conventional power aircraft carrier. It officially entered service on December 17, 2019, ushering in the era of domestically produced aircraft carriers and the era of "dual aircraft carriers" in China. In the past five years, the Shandong warship has been guided by the goal of quickly forming comprehensive combat capabilities and has participated in major missions such as the "Joint Sword" by using the open sea and ocean as a "training ground". Compared with the time of deployment, the Shandong ship's carrier based aircraft have significantly shortened their flight support time, greatly improved their preparation efficiency for further deployment, and now possess all-weather complex weather combat capabilities. During the practical training, all officers and soldiers of the Shandong ship collaborated with scientific researchers to tackle over a hundred challenges that hindered the improvement of combat effectiveness, resulting in hundreds of research achievements. Many of them won first prizes in the military and navy, as well as national invention patents. On the basis of refining their professional skills, all officers and soldiers on board have undergone cross disciplinary learning and further education. A large number of crew members have passed the cross disciplinary personnel qualification certification assessment and entered the "one specialty, multiple abilities" talent pool. A group of "leading troops, strong hands", "professional experts" and "support experts" have grown rapidly, reserve talents for other new types of warships. (New Society)
