Recently, the Kenya China Economic and Trade Association released a report on the social responsibility of Chinese funded enterprises, which showed that from 2022 to 2023, Chinese enterprises employed more than 60000 local employees in Kenya, with a localization rate of over 90%, making positive contributions in promoting local employment and other aspects. The mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Kenya is a vivid example of China and Africa working together to promote modernization and assist in the modernization of the global South. Seeking development and cooperation is the common pursuit of China and African countries. The relationship between China and Africa did not develop in a day, nor was it bestowed by anyone. It was forged through thick and thin, through thick and thin, step by step. Since the mid-20th century, China and Africa have fought side by side in the struggle against imperialism, colonialism, and hegemony, and have walked hand in hand on the path of development, revitalization, and modernization, forging a brotherly bond of sharing the same breath, destiny, and heart. Since the beginning of the new century, relying on the platform of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, China and Africa have worked together for common development. Data shows that Chinese companies have added and upgraded over 10000 kilometers of railways, nearly 100000 kilometers of highways, nearly a thousand bridges, and nearly a hundred ports in Africa. Roads, railways, schools, hospitals, industrial parks, and economic zones have become the "golden signboards" of China Africa cooperation. Since the new era, China Africa cooperation has developed towards a higher level, deeper level, and wider scope. The two sides will jointly build the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the global development initiative, the African Union's 2063 Agenda and the development strategies of African countries. From proposing the "Ten Major Cooperation Plans" jointly implemented by China and Africa in 2015 to proposing the "Eight Major Actions" for key implementation in 2018; From the announcement of the "nine projects" of China Africa practical cooperation in 2021 to the proposal of the "ten partnership actions" of China and Africa to jointly promote modernization at the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in September this year, China Africa cooperation has kept pace with the times, blazed new trails and created momentum for modernization through the Beijing Declaration on Building an All weather China Africa Shared Destiny in a New Era and the Beijing Action Plan of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation (2025 – 2027) to strengthen China Africa cooperation in the next three years. Gideon Sitanga, a postdoctoral researcher at the Africa China Studies Center at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, believes that countries in the "global South", especially African countries, are optimistic about China's economic development prospects. The joint efforts of Africa and China to promote modernization are conducive to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides, promoting Africa's economic development and poverty reduction process, and promoting people to people exchanges between Africa and China. A series of practical measures and powerful actions taken by China and Africa to jointly promote modernization vividly demonstrate the world significance of Chinese path to modernization. China and Africa account for one-third of the world's total population, and without modernization in Central Africa, there would be no modernization in the world. As far as China is concerned, it is not pursuing modernization on its own, but is willing to work with other countries, including developing countries, to promote the realization of a world modernization of peaceful development, mutually beneficial cooperation, and common prosperity. As the largest developing country, China is committed to promoting high-quality development with a high level of opening up, and comprehensively promoting the great cause of building a strong country and national rejuvenation with Chinese path to modernization, which will provide great opportunities for African countries. As for Africa, it is the continent with the highest concentration of developing countries. The second decade implementation plan of the African Union's Agenda 2063 has been fully launched, accelerating the construction of free trade zones on the African continent and committed to building an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa. The dream of modernization shared by China and Africa not only brings more benefits to the Chinese and African people, but also injects strong impetus into improving global governance and promoting peaceful development. As Paul Frimpong, Executive Director of the Ghana Africa China Policy Advisory Center, stated, the joint efforts of Africa and China to promote modernization will inevitably lead the "global South" towards prosperity. The world is currently experiencing unprecedented changes, and facing new opportunities and challenges, China and Africa need to unite and cooperate even more. The prosperity of China Africa cooperation leads to the prosperity of South South cooperation. If both China and Africa develop well, the world will be better. As long as the more than 2.8 billion people of China and Africa work together in the same direction, they will surely create brilliance on the path of modernization and make new and greater contributions to building a world of lasting peace and common prosperity, and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
