In Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 4-year-old Xiao Yege is a well-known "star". Wearing Yunyun shoes, sheepskin coat, holding a drum in his left hand and a hammer in his right hand, spinning and shouting... Just after finishing kindergarten, Xiao Yege followed his uncle, who was a inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, to practice sheepskin drum dance on the local streets with great professionalism and dance style. Carrying out sheepskin inspiration teaching training and exhibition, incubating the "Xiaoyege" intangible cultural heritage inheritance brand, etc., is a microcosm of the continuous protection of Qiang cultural ecology and the active exhibition and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage projects in the local area for many years. There are currently 102 intangible cultural heritage protection projects in Wenchuan County, including Qiang embroidery, Qiang Salang, Qiang sheepskin drum dance, Qiang oral string, etc. Among them, there are 6 national intangible cultural heritage protection projects. On December 5th, the 19th regular session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO approved the evaluation and decided to transfer the "Qiang Year" from the list of urgently needed intangible cultural heritage to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The Qiang New Year is an annual traditional New Year of the Qiang ethnic group in China, celebrated on the first day of the tenth lunar month. The related activities usually last for 3 to 5 days. During this period, the Qiang people gathered in villages, worshipped the heavens and ancestors, prayed for blessings to drive away filth, and celebrated a bountiful harvest. This heritage project is a comprehensive cultural practice that integrates folk customs, oral traditions, performing arts, and traditional handicrafts. It is also a cultural space that carries the social practice, life experience, traditional knowledge, and ethical norms of the Qiang people. In recent years, the "Qiang Year" has played an important role in protecting the traditional culture of the Qiang ethnic group, promoting local cultural and ecological tourism, and developing rural characteristic tourism.
