Only by building a "bridge" with overseas Chinese can we gather in Liwan. A few days ago, the second batch of intangible cultural heritage projects in Liwan Non Heritage Gathering Area, the first auction of intangible cultural heritage works and the opening ceremony of the joint exhibition of cultural and creative works on the Maritime Silk Road, were held in the the Pearl River Piano Dream Park, the blue sea of culture in Liwan District. This event is jointly guided by the Propaganda Department of Liwan District Committee, the Cultural, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Liwan District, the Overseas Chinese Federation of Liwan District, and Guangdong Light Industry Vocational and Technical University, and hosted by the Liwan District Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center. At the event site, An Jianguo, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and head of the United Front Work Department, and Bu Zhiqun, chairman of the District Federation of Overseas Chinese, presented the plaque of "New Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Practice Base" to the the Pearl River Piano Dream Park. This will be based on the work philosophy of "Party building leading overseas Chinese construction and talent promoting development", stimulate the innovative enthusiasm and entrepreneurial motivation of new overseas Chinese talents, strengthen their practical experience, service and guarantee work, promote the exchange of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, technology transformation, project cooperation, resource sharing, and development win-win in the overseas Chinese community, and further consolidate the hearts, intelligence and strength of overseas Chinese. At the opening ceremony of the awarding ceremony of the "New Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Practice Base" of the Pearl River Piano Dream Garden, representatives of the newly settled studios, such as Xiguan Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture, Xiguan Pregnancy Therapy, Guangzhou Clay Sculpture, Yongchun Boxing, Guangzhou Paper Cuttings, Cantonese Opera, and Cantonese hardwood furniture production skills, received the plaque of "Enterprises on the Cultural and Creative Industry Chain of Liwan District". The first auction of intangible cultural heritage works in Liwan District also kicked off on the same day. This is also the first online and offline joint auction of intangible cultural heritage in Guangdong Province, filling the gap in the Lingnan auction market for intangible cultural heritage. The atmosphere at the auction was lively, with bids echoing one after another. After multiple rounds of bidding, a total of 24 works were collected by collectors. It is understood that the the Pearl River Piano Dream Garden was officially opened in April 2021. In the same year, the Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation and the Central South Overseas Chinese Federation jointly built the Central South Overseas Chinese Home within the park, relying on the street party and mass service center. The home includes overseas Chinese service posts, hotlines, policy propaganda corners, and reception rooms for overseas Chinese representatives. It has become a warm home for overseas Chinese friends and the general public to communicate, consult, and carry out activities. Since then, Liwan Intangible Cultural Heritage Cluster has settled in the Pearl River Piano Dream Garden at the end of June 2023. As the first productive non heritage gathering area in Guangzhou, Liwan Non heritage Gathering Area is a new development space for the protection of intangible heritage jointly created by the Pearl River Piano Group and Liwan District People's Government. The first phase of the project covers an area of 12000 square meters, introducing 27 high-quality intangible cultural heritage inheritors' studios in Liwan District, creating a comprehensive gathering and development platform for intangible cultural heritage that integrates production, exhibition, experience, training, research and development, and exchange. It effectively promotes the protection, inheritance, and innovative development of intangible cultural heritage, and promotes the inheritance and promotion of traditional Chinese culture. As of September 2024, the the Pearl River Piano Dream Park has attracted nearly 120 enterprises to settle in, including many overseas Chinese funded and overseas Chinese owned enterprises. Some enterprises have returned doctors and master's talents. The park has a large number of returned overseas Chinese and their families, overseas Chinese, returned overseas students, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots and their families. New overseas Chinese have gathered and overseas Chinese resources are rich. Many masters or inheritors of intangible cultural heritage studios are elites in the overseas Chinese community, holding honorary positions such as chairman, consultant, and committee member in various levels of the Overseas Chinese Federation system, and deeply participating in the work of the Federation. At the same time, since its opening, the the Pearl River Piano Dream Garden has undertaken various research exchanges, visits and research activities carried out by the Chinese Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, provincial and municipal overseas Chinese federations, received more than 50 batches of overseas Chinese and student visiting groups from more than 30 countries, and welcomed consular officials from Poland, Germany, Israel, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Thailand and other countries in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao members of the Political Consultative Conference of Liwan District, as well as many Hong Kong and Macao associations and overseas Chinese groups. In terms of entrepreneurial service activities, the park holds themed events such as policy lectures, legal consultations, forums and salons, industry exchanges, opinion consultations, and touring classrooms to support the high-quality development of enterprises. It provides various innovative and entrepreneurial services for overseas Chinese students, overseas Chinese, and overseas Chinese businesses. The relevant person in charge stated that the establishment of the Liwan Intangible Cultural Heritage Gathering Area is a fusion innovation of "intangible cultural heritage+cultural tourism", which helps the intangible cultural heritage industries such as Guangcai, Guangxiu, and Xiangyunsha to "integrate into the sea" and "go global", allowing the world's "overseas Chinese" to see the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage, and passing on the torch of Liwan intangible cultural heritage.
