On the afternoon of the 11th, at 3:00 pm, the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area added another "key horizontal" to its connectivity, and the Huangmao Sea Cross Sea Passage was officially opened for trial operation. This is the first cross sea channel project to start construction after the release of the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area", and it is also another major cross sea channel in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area after the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge and the Shenzhen China Channel. It is understood that the project is managed by Guangdong Transportation Group Construction, and more than 30 units including Poly Changda, CCCC Road Construction, and China Railway Major Bridge Bureau have organized nearly 10000 builders to participate in the construction. The project started construction in June 2020, starting from Pingsha Town, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province and ending at Doushan Town, Taishan City, Jiangmen City, with a total length of about 31 kilometers. Among them, the cross sea section is about 14 kilometers long, with two main bridges: Gaolan Port Bridge and Huangmaohai Bridge. Adopting the standard of a two-way six lane expressway, with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage brings development opportunities to Jiangmen City, known as the "hometown of Chinese overseas Chinese".
