According to the WeChat official account "released by the customs", the "HS2402" smuggling of refined oil case investigated by Fuzhou Customs recently made significant progress. Fuzhou Customs organized a centralized investigation into the clues of maritime smuggling within the customs area. After careful investigation, they initially identified multiple maritime smuggling gangs of refined oil products led by Liu and Zhao. Since 2021, the above-mentioned groups have used modified deck oil tankers to transport smuggled diesel to overseas vessels on a large scale, and then smuggled and sold it to fishing boats, engineering operation ships and other vessels for profit. After understanding the organizational structure, activity patterns, and obtaining some relevant evidence of smuggling gangs, Fuzhou Customs organized and deployed a crackdown operation. Under the unified command of the Anti Smuggling Bureau of the General Administration of Customs, the Fuzhou Customs Anti Smuggling Bureau, together with the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau, and with the assistance of Hangzhou Customs and Zhoushan Public Security Bureau, carried out the code named "HS2402" land sea joint investigation and seizure of smuggled refined oil products involved in the sea. Divided into 7 action teams, 34 suspect were captured in Lianjiang, Fujian, Zhoushan, Zhejiang and other places, 3 professional criminal gangs smuggling refined oil products in Fujian and Zhejiang waters were shot down, and 4 smuggled ships involved in the case were seized at the scene, with cash of 3.31 million yuan. After the special task force delved deeper and expanded the pipeline, and focused on tackling the situation, the total amount of smuggled refined oil products in the case was verified to have increased from 10000 tons before the crackdown to 75000 tons, and the value of the case increased from 80 million yuan before the crackdown to 690 million yuan. This case is the largest maritime smuggling of refined oil investigated by Fuzhou Customs since 2022. (New Society)
