On the afternoon of October 14th, the famous Swiss photographer Mark? The opening ceremony of Marco D'Anna's photography exhibition "Container, Module, Perceived Landscape" was successfully held at Wuxian Temple in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. The event was hosted by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Guangzhou, with support from the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, the Yuexiu District Government of Guangzhou, and the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in China. Philippe Praz, Consul General of Switzerland in Guangzhou, Valerio De Parolis, Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, Yang Weiguo, Director of the Cultural, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, Colin Hai, Director of the Yuexiu District Museum, representatives of several foreign delegations in Guangzhou, representatives of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in China, and friendly individuals from all walks of life at home and abroad attended the event. Peng Yifan, Consul General of Switzerland in Guangzhou, pointed out in his speech at the event that both China and Switzerland are important participants in the process of globalization, and since the signing of the free trade agreement, bilateral trade relations between the two countries have been greatly improved. The Italian Consul General in Guangzhou, Valerio De Parolis, invited curator Li Ying, a local artist from Yuexiu District, to introduce the exhibition. Li Ying mentioned that the Po Shan Ancient Ferry at the Five Immortals Temple was once a bustling port for foreign trade on the Maritime Silk Road and a historical witness to Guangzhou's Maritime Silk Road. Is it related to Mark? The combination of Dana's container works creates a dialogue that spans ancient and modern times, integrating Chinese and Western cultures. These works are not only a display of container aesthetics, but also a profound reflection on human culture and trade activities in the context of globalization. Mark? Dana is a photographer from the Italian speaking region of Switzerland, known for his unique perspective on container photography. His works have been exhibited in multiple international exhibitions, and he also received the "Jingmei Zun" International Photographer Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. In the exhibition 'Container, Module, Perceived Landscape', Mark? Dana uses containers, a symbol of modern logistics, as a medium to allow viewers to freely imagine in different spaces through colored modules. Through his lens, containers have become colorful modules, witnessing global economic and trade activities, leading the audience to deeply contemplate the relationships between globalization, humanity, nature, and society through time and space. According to on-site reports from Xinhua News Agency, the exhibition will be held from October 14th to October 31st, 2024, aiming to celebrate the "World Italian Language Week" and also to warm up for the upcoming Guangzhou Yuexiu District Maritime Silk Road Cultural Tourism Week, showcasing the cultural charm of Guangzhou as an important node city on the ancient Maritime Silk Road, and helping Guangzhou apply for World Heritage status and promote the integration of culture, commerce, and tourism. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland, the overall relationship between the two countries has developed steadily, and multiple dialogues have been held in various fields such as culture, trade, investment, and technology. The China Switzerland Free Trade Agreement is the first free trade agreement signed between China and a European country. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the agreement's signing, and the two countries are about to start negotiations and further deepen their economic and trade relations.
