On October 14th local time, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz jointly attended the completion ceremony of the Gwadar New International Airport project at the Prime Minister's Office in Pakistan.
Li Qiang stated that the new Gwadar International Airport is a key facility for Gwadar Port to become a regional connectivity hub, and an important symbol of the further deepening of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor construction. Since the launch of the construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, fruitful results have been achieved through the joint cooperation of both sides, playing a positive role in promoting Pakistan's economic and social development and regional integration process. China is willing to work with Pakistan to continue to work together, adhere to the principle of jointly building and sharing, openness, green integrity, high standards, and people's livelihood sustainability, and further build the China Pakistan Economic Corridor into a high-quality demonstration project of jointly building the "the Belt and Road".
Li Qiang pointed out that the new Gwadar International Airport is also a vivid portrayal of the special friendship between China and Pakistan.
