2024-09-24

On September 22nd, at the French Academy in Paris, France, visitors lined up in front of the door. September 21st and 22nd this year are the annual European Heritage Day in France, and nearly 20000 cultural heritage sites in France are open to the public for free during these two days. In 1984, under the promotion of Jacques Lang, the then French Minister of Culture, many French historical and cultural heritage sites were opened to the public for free. Initially, this event was scheduled to be held on the third Sunday of September each year, but in 1992 it was changed to be held on both Saturdays and Sundays. Nowadays, Heritage Day activities have expanded to various European countries and become an important cultural event throughout Europe. (New Society)
