2024 marks the tenth anniversary of the construction of the Guangxi Brunei Economic Corridor. From August 24th to 26th, Liu Ning, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, led a delegation to visit Brunei to attend relevant economic and trade activities, promote friendly exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields between the two sides, and help deepen and implement cooperation in the China ASEAN Eastern Growth Area. On August 24th, Liu Ning met with Liu Guangming, Minister of the Prime Minister's Office and Minister in charge of Finance and Economy of Brunei, at Mora Port. They had in-depth exchanges on promoting pragmatic cooperation between the two sides and jointly attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mora Port container terminal expansion project. Liu Ning stated that since Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group participated in the construction of Brunei Mora Port, the port has become the most efficient port in the ASEAN Eastern Growth Zone and an important bridge for economic and trade cooperation between China and Brunei. It has become a vivid example of Guangxi and Brunei working together and achieving win-win cooperation. We hope that both sides will continue to enhance their level of connectivity and support the development of China Brunei strategic partnership. Liu Guangming stated that the Brunei Guangxi Economic Corridor is the cornerstone of Brunei's economic partnership with China. Brunei is striving to achieve economic diversification and looks forward to close cooperation with Guangxi to deepen cooperation in areas such as food, downstream oil and gas, tourism, service industry, and information and communication technology, achieving mutual benefit and common development. During the visit, the economic and trade departments and key enterprises of Guangxi and Brunei conducted promotional and interactive exchanges on investment environment, economic and trade cooperation, industrial cooperation, etc., and signed a number of projects.
