17 robots on duty at Beijing Yuyuantan Park

In a park, there are 17 robots with different roles, responsible for intelligent inspection, water rescue, and green maintenance... Yesterday (August 20th), on the occasion of the opening of the 2024 World Robot Conference, Yuyuantan Park, as a sub venue, held the launch ceremony of the "Robot+Garden" innovative application scenario. The park also became the first "Robot+Garden" pilot park in the city. Yesterday morning, a reporter from Beiqing Daily came to Yuyuantan Park, where a "small tank" was working on the garden road surrounded by green space. It sprays a fine mist that can cover the surrounding area by 6 to 8 meters. According to Han Ling, deputy director of Yuyuantan Park, this is a disinfection and sterilization and deinsectization robot, which can well complete green maintenance operations such as disinfection, deinsectization and dust removal. It is reported that 17 robots from 11 companies are currently on duty in Yuyuantan Park. These robots can be roughly divided into six categories, including cleaning and sweeping, water rescue, green maintenance, intelligent inspection, science education, and ecological monitoring. Han Ling said that the deployment of robots has effectively improved the construction and service management level of smart scenic spots in parks. Taking cleaning and sweeping robots as an example, Yuyuantan Park has deployed road cleaning robots and water surface cleaning robots. The road cleaning robot can automatically avoid pedestrians, park autonomously, and use high-precision positioning algorithms to clean blind spots such as gaps at the edges of the road. The water surface cleaning robot can automatically collect floating debris such as fallen leaves, willow catkins, and miscellaneous objects on the water surface. It adopts a propeller differential propulsion system, which is flexible in steering, can move forward and backward, and can also increase the function of waterproof grass wrapping navigation in complex water areas. In terms of security inspection, there is a water rescue robot that weighs only 26 pounds and can be thrown into the water from high altitudes such as ships and banks. Its remote control distance is over 500 meters, and through wireless operation, it can quickly reach the drowning person. Zhao Tao, the captain of the Yuyuantan Park Cruise Team, told a reporter from Beiqing Daily that the speed of the surface rescue robot is about 10 times that of an ordinary person's swimming speed. It is not only fast but also capable of dealing with complex water conditions, greatly improving rescue efficiency and success rate. Why are such cool robots introduced in the park? According to Hu Yong, director of the Beijing Landscape and Greening Big Data Center, the "Beijing Garden City Special Plan" clearly proposes to innovate governance concepts and methods, and create a model for the development of smart garden cities. In order to promote the development of new quality productivity in the landscaping industry and assist the intelligent construction of the Capital Garden City with intelligent devices, the Municipal Landscape and Greening Bureau has widely solicited excellent robot products from robot enterprises throughout the city, strengthened communication and cooperation between parks and robot enterprises, and actively promoted the demonstration of "robot human+landscaping" application scenarios. In the future, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Greening will further open up the landscape and greening industry scenes, conduct in-depth research on the integration points between the landscape and robot industries, formulate top-level design and working mechanisms, and continue to connect with robot enterprises to meet their needs, develop robot products suitable for landscape and greening scenes, further expand the scope of pilot applications, and create an industry model of "robot+".
