Recently, in Yangliu Town, Xintai City, Shandong Province, local farmers are busy using the wheat straw left behind from the harvest to make straw fans for sale. Yangliu Town, Xintai City, Shandong Province has a tradition of making wheat straw fans. After more than 10 processes such as cleaning, weaving, cutting samples, sewing edges, and applying handles, wheat straw is made into lightweight fans by farmers. At present, there are more than 20000 farmers engaged in the processing and production of straw fans in Yangliu Town and surrounding towns, and the straw fan industry has broadened the path for local farmers to increase income and become prosperous.
