Single day footage of 2006 meters! China's onshore ultra deep well drilling speed sets new record

2024-08-07

Today (August 7th), it was learned from China National Petroleum Corporation that a super deep drilling rig located on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert has completed its drilling mission. During the process, it drilled as fast as 2006 meters underground in one day, setting a record for the daily footage of ultra deep drilling on land in China and marking a new breakthrough in the technology of speeding up ultra deep drilling in China. The record breaking Ha 13-H9 well in Tarim Oilfield is located in Shaya County, Xinjiang, with a drilling depth of 7341 meters. This is the second time in 10 days that Tarim Oilfield has broken the record for the highest daily footage. Previously, the Yingxi 2 well drilled in Tarim Oilfield achieved a daily footage of 1908 meters, and in just 7 days, it was drilled to 3118 meters. Since this year, Tarim Oilfield has accelerated the exploration and development of ultra deep oil and gas in the Tarim Basin by comprehensively promoting drilling speed, reducing the drilling cycle by more than 20%, breaking China's ultra deep well drilling records for many times, and comprehensively accelerating the pace of realization of ultra deep oil and gas resources.
