The first China Australia New Zealand Buddhist Forum with the theme of "Compassion and Harmony, Diversified Coexistence" was held on the 4th at the University of Sydney in Australia. The forum brings together over 500 monks, scholars, members of the Australian Buddhist community, and representatives of other faiths from China, Southeast Asia, and other countries, aiming to promote academic exchange, artistic and cultural exchange, and cross religious cooperation and understanding. The forum is divided into three sub forums: "Buddhism and Ecological Environment", "Multiple Beliefs, Multiculturalism, and Colorful World - Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind", and "Zen and Contemporary Society". The attending guests engaged in in-depth discussions on relevant topics. Venerable Guangquan, Deputy Secretary General of the Buddhist Association of China and Abbot of Lingyin Temple, stated in his speech that Buddhism advocates compassion and harmony, and teaches that all sentient beings have Buddha nature, and each person has their own unique value and mission. The existence of various beliefs reflects humanity's diverse exploration and pursuit of truth. Professor Heng Shi from the Institute of Religious Studies in the Dharma Realm and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Buddhist Association in the Dharma Realm believes that in the current world full of changes and challenges, Chinese Buddhism will continue to contribute to global peace and development. Buddhism has spread to the West and has made significant progress in the past few decades. Master Hengshi expressed his expectation for Buddhism to further play a positive role on a global scale. Master Qiu Shuang, Deputy Secretary General of the Buddhist Association of China and Abbot of Hanshan Temple, pointed out that in the context of multiple beliefs and cultures, Buddhist culture provides valuable wisdom and strength for building a community with a shared future for mankind. He called for respecting the diversity of various beliefs and cultures, and working together to build a harmonious and inclusive world. Master Mingyi of Singapore's Fuhai Zen Temple elaborated on the connotation and practice of ecological Buddhism and its sustainable development concept in his speech, emphasizing the close relationship between humans and nature and the importance of ecological responsibility. During the forum, participants expressed their expectation to continue using such communication platforms in the future to jointly promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
