Affected by continuous rainfall, floods have occurred in many areas of Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning. The officers and soldiers of the People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police Force, as well as the militia, are fighting on the front line of flood prevention and rescue, continuously carrying out rescue operations. Affected by recent precipitation and upstream inflow, the water level in the Mudanjiang River Basin continues to rise, and the flood prevention situation is severe. On July 29th, the Mudanjiang Military Sub district of Heilongjiang Province and the Mudanjiang Branch of the Heilongjiang Armed Police Force quickly organized officers, soldiers, and militia to participate in flood control and rescue work upon hearing of the "flood season". On the north bank of Mudanjiang in the urban area of Ning'an, soldiers and militia loaded sandbags and built embankments, fighting continuously for more than 10 hours to ensure the safe passage of flood peaks. On the evening of the 29th, a certain brigade of the Northern Theater Command Air Force established an emergency flood prevention and rescue team and went to Xi'an District of Mudanjiang City to carry out embankment construction and patrol tasks. A certain brigade of the 78th Group Army received orders from superiors and dispatched officers and soldiers to rush to Wenchun Town in Mudanjiang City to support local reinforcement of dams. As of the time of writing, the officers and soldiers of the brigade have reinforced over 800 meters of the embankment. On the morning of the 29th, there was a dangerous situation at the Xishahe Dam in Hujiadian and Hexing Village, Wujia Town, Beizhen City, Liaoning Province. A brigade of the 79th Group Army organized a party member assault team to urgently reinforce the dam. On the 30th, a pipe surge occurred in the embankment of Taiyang Island Coastal Road in Zhen'an District, Dandong City. Under the guidance of technical personnel, officers and soldiers from the Dandong Branch of the Liaoning Armed Police Force urgently blocked the pipe surge and eliminated the danger. From July 29th to 30th, officers and soldiers of the Jilin Provincial Military Region, militia, and Jilin Armed Police Corps Tonghua Branch and Changchun Branch continued to carry out work such as transferring the masses, patrolling embankments and dams, transporting sandbags, and blocking pipe surges. On the 30th, officers and men of Baishan Detachment of Jilin Armed Police Corps went deep into Nanweizi Street, which was heavily affected by the earthquake in Linjiang City, to carry out epidemic prevention, disinfection and sterilization and mud removal operations. According to the meteorological department's prediction, some areas in Northeast China will experience another heavy rainfall process. The stationed troops, officers and soldiers, and militia will closely monitor the weather changes, make various preparations, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property. (New Society)
