Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Xie Zhanhuan, departed for Beijing today (July 10th) to attend the second high-level meeting of the Global Forum on Shared Development. During his visit to Beijing, Xie Zhanhuan will visit the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the National Energy Administration to continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation. He will also visit the Earth System Numerical Simulation Device of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to understand the latest development of the country in tackling climate change and atmospheric environment governance. The Permanent Secretary for the Environment and Ecology (Environment), Xie Xiaohua, the Climate Change Commissioner, Huang Chuanhui, as well as personnel from the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Environmental Protection Department, and the Hong Kong Observatory will also accompany. Xie Zhanhuan will return to Hong Kong on the evening of July 13th. During his departure, Huang Shuxian, Deputy Director of the Environment and Ecology Bureau, will serve as Director of the Environment and Ecology Bureau. (Lai Xin She)
