In early June, the relocation ceremony of Beijing Xiaomi Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xiaomi Robotics) was held in the Beijing Economic Development Zone. Previously, Beijing Ubisoft Intelligent Robotics Co., Ltd. unveiled its humanoid robot headquarters in the Economic Development Zone. At this point, the two leading domestic humanoid robot companies have successively started operating here. According to the person in charge of Xiaomi Robotics, the company was registered in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone in April 2023, focusing on innovation and product research and development of biomimetic robots. It plans to invest 2 billion yuan in 5 years to build the first universal biomimetic robot product research and development, manufacturing, and application demonstration project in Beijing. At present, Xiaomi Robotics has established a research and development system with hundreds of people, covering areas such as components, hardware systems, software systems, operation control, and sensing, and is gradually promoting the landing of its own manufacturing system for humanoid robots. Beijing Youbixuan Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd. was established in August 2023 in the Beijing Economic Development Zone, carrying out research and development, production, and sales of humanoid robots. Currently, it has hundreds of patents related to robots and artificial intelligence. Recently, the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with a domestic automobile manufacturing enterprise on the application of humanoid robots. Its industrial version of the humanoid robot Walker S will enter the automobile manufacturing factory to carry out a series of work in the automobile manufacturing process, including seat belt, door lock, car light cover plate, carriage rear cover inspection and oil filling. The relevant person in charge of Beijing Economic Development Zone stated that the zone is focusing on expanding technological and application scenarios, accelerating the improvement of the humanoid robot industry ecosystem. Currently, it has gathered 2 humanoid robot R&D and manufacturing enterprises, several key component enterprises, 1 provincial innovation center, 1 industry alliance, 1 municipal fund, and 21 characteristic industrial parks.
