June 8, 2024 is China's "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day". The "New Glory of the Bay Area's Unity Era - Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Project Exhibition", guided by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum (Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center), will be performed three times in a row from June 9 to 11 at the Intangible Cultural Heritage Theater of the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. This exhibition is composed of four chapters: "Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Revitalization", "Bay Area's Unity in Expressing Emotions", "Beauty and Common Development", and "Lifelong Towards the Future". The core of the exhibition is to promote and disseminate the unique intangible cultural heritage projects of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Multiple representative works of human intangible cultural heritage and national and provincial intangible cultural heritage representative projects are selected, covering performance forms such as song and dance, instrumental music, opera, and clothing display. We warmly invite inheritors of intangible cultural heritage from Guangdong Hong Kong Macao and multiple parts of the country, as well as strong art troupes from the Greater Bay Area to join us. We are committed to creating a platform for the exchange and exhibition of intangible cultural heritage in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. The exhibition selected a group of national intangible cultural heritage projects with Lingnan characteristics from Guangzhou, Foshan, Meizhou, Chaozhou, Qingyuan and other places, focusing on showcasing the new vitality of various intangible cultural heritage projects in modern inheritance and development in Guangdong Province, and telling the colorful stories of Guangdong in the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. In the performance program, Guangdong Xingshi, Meizhou Hakka Folk Song, Yingge, Liannan Yao Shuoguetang and Guangdong's three major operas - Guangdong Opera, Guangdong Han Opera, Chaozhou Opera, as well as Xiangyun gauze clothing, Guangdong Paper Cuttings, etc., will collide with different "fireworks" in the bold attempt of innovation and integration, presenting a diverse and vivid performance scene. In addition, the exhibition also invited Guangxi Zhuang people to play the Tianqin, Shandong Haiyang Yangko, and Mongolian Homai to come to Guangdong for exchange and exhibition, presenting the colorful intangible cultural heritage from all over the country, promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning among different regions. In addition to the wonderful performance of the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, this exhibition also brought together the opera celebrities such as Zeng Xiaomin, Lin Yanyun, Zeng Hui and Huang Lihua, winners of the highest award of Chinese drama performance art "Plum Blossom Performance Award", as well as pop singer Pan Xu and new China-Chic original musician Li Siya. As an art troupe in the Greater Bay Area, the Guangdong Song and Dance Theatre will also take the stage to assist and bring exciting programs of cross-border integration. The Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum officially opened to the public on May 1st this year, and this exhibition will be the first performance of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Theater after the museum's opening. To benefit the general public and share the achievements of intangible cultural heritage development, free tickets will be given to the public for the two performances on June 10th and 11th. The public can make an appointment to collect tickets through the small program "White Goose Pond Dawan District Art Center", and get paper tickets at the main gate (east gate) of Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum with the appointment voucher (one ticket is allowed for each person) from 9:30-11:30 and 14:30-16:30 from June 7 to 8, or watch the live broadcast online on the "Star Sea Live", "Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage" video number and Tiktok number.
