According to China Railway Group, starting from June 15th, high-speed trains will operate between Beijing and Hong Kong, Shanghai and Hong Kong. In response to this, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, expressed gratitude to the central government for its care for Hong Kong and the support of China Railway Group in meeting the needs of a large number of tourists, promoting personnel, economic and cultural exchanges, and promoting Hong Kong's better integration into the overall development of the country. It is reported that from June 15th, the regular speed through trains Z97/98 and Z99/100 running between Beijing West, Shanghai and Hong Kong's Hung Hom Station will be upgraded to high-speed rail sleeper trains D909/910 and D907/908 running between Beijing West, Shanghai's Hongqiao and Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station. The travel time from Beijing, Shanghai to Hong Kong will be compressed from 24:31 and 19:34 to 12 hours 34 and 11 hours 14, respectively. The travel time between Beijing and Hong Kong will be extended overnight. Li Jiachao said that the new arrangement shows a significant increase in the number of seats to over 600 and a halving of travel time. The clearance time has been significantly reduced, from the original "two inspections in two places" adopted by direct trains to "two inspections in one place". At the same time, it will expand the coverage of trains to include more stations along the high-speed rail line. Train schedules are closer to actual needs, departing from the most popular Friday to Monday to meet actual needs. Li Jiachao stated that he has instructed the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government and MTR to fully carry out implementation work and a series of publicity and promotion.
