With the deepening of the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, the inbound and outbound passenger flow through the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has continued to grow rapidly since the beginning of this year. According to data from the Zhuhai Border Inspection Station's Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station, from January 1st to May 21st at 9:40 am this year, there were over 10 million inbound and outbound passengers passing through the Zhuhai Highway Port via the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, an increase of 127.7% year-on-year; Compared to last year, it achieved a passenger flow of over ten million people four months ahead of schedule. The increasing number of northbound passengers from Hong Kong and Macao has become the main factor driving the rapid growth of port passenger flow. Since the beginning of this year, the number of Hong Kong and Macao tourists entering and exiting through ports has reached 6.025 million, a year-on-year increase of 126.3%, accounting for 60.4% of the total passenger flow at ports. Mainland tourists traveling to Hong Kong and Macao are also hot, with over 1.9 million mainland tourists holding Hong Kong and Macao tourism visas, a year-on-year increase of 130%. During weekends and holidays, the daily average passenger and vehicle flows at the port reached 61000 and 16100 respectively, which are 1.5 times and 1.3 times higher than normal days; The highest daily passenger and vehicle flows exceeded 144000 and 19500 respectively. With the implementation of five measures by the National Immigration Administration to facilitate foreign nationals to come to China and the expansion of visa free countries, over 158000 foreign tourists have entered and exited the mainland through the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge for business exchanges, tourism, and other purposes since the beginning of this year, a year-on-year increase of 412.6%. To cope with the rapidly growing passenger and vehicular flow, the border inspection station of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge closely monitors the port flow, opens sufficient inspection channels in advance, ensures timely and dynamic peak shaving during peak passenger flow periods, maximizes customs clearance efficiency, provides convenient passage for passengers, and fully guarantees the safety and smoothness of port clearance.
