According to the Guangdong Provincial Museum, recently, the National Cutural Heritage Administration and the Ministry of Finance determined and announced a new round of national key museums to be jointly built by the central and local governments. Guangdong Provincial Museum is listed as the only museum in South China. The successful selection of Guangdong Provincial Museum signifies that Guangdong has since become a national key museum. It is understood that the national key museums jointly built by the central and local governments are jointly recognized by the National Cutural Heritage Administration and the Ministry of Finance as local key museums that highlight Chinese civilization, represent Chinese characteristics and lead the development of the industry. At present, there are a total of 15 national key museums jointly built by the central and local governments in the new round. In 1959, the Guangdong Provincial Museum officially opened with a building area of 77000 square meters and a collection of over 320000 pieces (sets), including four categories of historical, natural, artistic, and revolutionary cultural relics. Ceramics, calligraphy, and painting collections are among the top in domestic museums, and the "Maritime Silk Road" cultural relics and "South Australia" cultural relics are among the best Ι The ocean water cultural relics such as "Hao" showcase their unique features. In recent years, Guangdong Provincial Museum has continuously strengthened its management foundation, systematically sorted out its collection resources, strengthened the protection and restoration of movable cultural relics, and built a diversified three-dimensional collection system and cultural relic protection platform. It has now become the most complete comprehensive museum in the national collection system. At present, the Guangdong Provincial Museum has established the earliest specialized marine effluent cultural relic protection laboratory in China, undertaking the "South China Sea" project Ι South Australia Ι The protection of underwater cultural relics in major national underwater archaeological excavation projects such as "No." is in a leading position in the field of marine water cultural relics protection, and the construction and completion of the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Science and Technology New Center is being promoted simultaneously.
