On the evening of January 21st, the opening concert of the 2024 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) International Youth Music Week was held at the Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Festival Orchestra" at the opening concert of the Performance Music Week is composed of musicians from the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Orchestra, and Macau Orchestra. This Music Week is hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, with supporting units including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government Bureau of Culture, and the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports; Organized by the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Xinghai Concert Hall, Hong Kong Orchestra, Macau Orchestra, and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and co organized by the Beijing International Music Festival Art Foundation. On the evening of January 21, more than 80 young musicians from all over the world gathered for the first time in the rehearsal hall of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra on Ersha Island of the the Pearl River. That evening, the opening concert of the Music Week was held at the Xinghai Concert Hall, marking the beginning of the 2024 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) International Youth Music Week.
