On January 18, the Yufo Temple, a century old temple in Shanghai, held the activity of "Sharing thick Laba Congee and welcoming the New Year with warmth and auspiciousness" at the square in front of the Mahavira Hall. Laba is not only a traditional festival for ancient people to worship ancestors and pray for blessings, but also a day for Buddha's enlightenment.
