At 9:28 am on December 26th, train C1893 slowly departed from Baiyun Station in Guangzhou, marking the opening and operation of the Shantou South to Shanwei section of the Shantou high-speed railway. The Shantou High Speed Railway starts from Shantou Station and passes through 8 districts and counties in Shantou, Jieyang, and Shanwei cities, connecting to Guangzhou and Shanwei High Speed Railway Shanwei Station. The total length of the line is 162 kilometers, with a total of 7 stations including Shantou, Shantou South, Chaonan, Huilai, Lufengdong, Lufengnan, and Shanwei. The Shantou South to Shanwei section of the Shantou Shantou high-speed railway operates at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. In the initial stage of operation, the railway department will arrange passenger trains according to the daily line, weekend line, and peak line, with up to 24 high-speed trains running daily. The opening and operation of the Shantou South to Shanwei section of the Shantou Shantou high-speed railway is of great significance for closely connecting the Shantou region with the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, facilitating the travel of people along the line, and promoting coordinated regional economic and social development.
