At 21:35 Beijing time on December 21, 2023, after approximately 7.5 hours of extravehicular activity, Shenzhou 17 astronauts Tang Hongbo, Tang Shengjie, and Jiang Xinlin worked closely together with the support of space station robotic arms and ground researchers to complete the predetermined tasks of repairing and testing the solar wings of the Tianhe core module. Astronauts Tang Hongbo and Tang Shengjie have safely returned to the Wentian experimental module, and the extravehicular activity has been a complete success. China's first astronaut to return to the space station, Tang Hongbo, took another spacewalk after two years. Astronaut Tang Shengjie has become the youngest astronaut in China to perform an extravehicular mission so far. According to the plan, a large number of scientific and technological experiments will be conducted during the manned flight mission of Shenzhou 17, as well as multiple astronaut group extravehicular activities and payload extravehicular missions.
