The 10 day "Peace and Friendship 2023" multinational joint exercise ended on the 22nd in Zhanjiang, Guangdong. The exercise focuses on the joint anti-terrorism and maintenance of maritime security military operations by multiple countries, distinguishing between land and sea directions, and organizing joint live exercises for anti-terrorism and anti piracy operations. Six countries, including China, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, participated in the mixed formation of military forces and put into use various new weapons and equipment on land, sea, and air. Together, they innovated urban anti-terrorism operations, as well as maritime anti-terrorism and anti piracy, joint air defense, and other combat methods. They explored and optimized the mechanism for joint anti-terrorism and maritime security military operations among multiple countries, achieving the expected objectives of the exercise and achieving complete success. The "Peace and Friendship" joint exercise has been held 5 times, with the largest number of participating countries and the largest scale of military forces. Liu Zhenli, member of the Central Military Commission and Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff Department of the Military Commission, was present to guide the joint live combat exercise, attended the closing ceremony of the exercise, and announced the end of the exercise.
