On October 21, the National Mainstream Media News Photography Exhibition "Endeavouring to Promote Chinese path to modernization" was opened at the China Millennium Monument in Beijing. As the theme section of Beijing International Photography Week's "Spirit of the Times and National Image". This exhibition focuses on the achievements of Chinese path to modernization in the new era and the new measures taken by various regions to promote Chinese path to modernization. At the opening ceremony, Xu Zugen, President of the China News Photography Society, introduced the curation process and display content of the exhibition. He said that in order to focus on the achievements of Chinese path to modernization and the new experience and new measures of promoting Chinese path to modernization in various places, the China Journalism Photography Society launched and jointly organized this grand exhibition with the China Association of Industry Newspapers and the national mainstream media, to show the brilliant achievements of the socialist modernization cause with Chinese characteristics in the form of photography specials, news pictures, news posters, 3D and micro videos, Show the hard work of the Chinese people to achieve the goal of Chinese path to modernization. After more than half a year of preparation, the exhibition has received support and active participation from over 200 mainstream media outlets at the central, provincial, municipal, and county levels. It has received over 20000 images and over 500 photography special editions. After careful selection by experts of the Organizing Committee, more than 200 photographic pages and more than 300 news pictures were finally selected for the exhibition, covering more than 10 fields, including economy and technology, major projects, transportation, rural revitalization, national unity, livelihood security, cultural and sports tourism, ecological civilization, social life, international exchanges, national defense construction, and peaceful development, which better reflects the five characteristics of Chinese path to modernization. It is hoped that through this exhibition, more people will understand the development and progress of China and encourage everyone to strive for Chinese path to modernization. Li Shufeng, Vice Chairman of the Beijing International Photography Week Organizing Committee and Chairman of the China Art Photography Society, stated in his speech that this exhibition brings together high-quality works shot by mainstream media news photographers from across the country in recent years on the news front line. The work records the glorious achievements made in China's socialist construction in the new era with a strong on-site atmosphere and a deeply emotional visual approach. The emergence of these works is the result of news photographers delving deeper into daily life and grassroots level, reading life and extracting reality, and focusing on the times and the people. Holding the Beijing International Photography Week once a year is to enable the people to share the fruits of economic development through imaging, forming a wide range of dissemination and influence at home and abroad, and making more people more deeply aware of the trustworthy, respectable, and lovely China. Zhang Chaowen, president of China Industry Newspaper Association, said at the opening ceremony that the exhibition witnessed the development of Chinese path to modernization through a large number of intuitive, fresh and vivid photographic works and multi-dimensional and three-dimensional records. Many photography works have significant practical significance and are also very valuable historical materials. As the co organizer of the photography exhibition, the China Association of Industry Newspapers has organized media to participate in the exhibition for three consecutive years. The number of media organizations has been increasing, the scope of participation has been expanding, and the quality of exhibited works has significantly improved.
