It has pointed out the direction of progress and provided fundamental guidance for writing a new chapter of high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on the new journey, and better supporting and serving Chinese path to modernization. In the past 8 years since the implementation of the development strategy for the Yangtze River Economic Belt, provinces and cities along the river, as well as relevant departments of the central government, have conscientiously implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, adhered to joint efforts in major protection and development, prioritized ecology and green development, solidly promoted the protection and restoration of the Yangtze River ecological environment, and actively promoted the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. With unprecedented determination and strength, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt has undergone significant changes. Significant changes have taken place in ideological understanding, significant achievements have been made in ecological environment protection and restoration, significant changes have been made in development methods, significant improvements have been made in regional integration, and significant progress has been made in reform and opening up... Practice has fully proven that the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee are correct, and the implementation in all aspects is strong, and promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is highly promising. At present, China's development has entered a period of coexistence of strategic opportunities and risks, as well as an increase in uncertain and unpredictable factors. Promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt also faces new situations, tasks, and challenges. From the perspective of national development, the Yangtze River Economic Belt covers 11 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River, with a population size and total economic output accounting for half of the country's "rivers and mountains". It has unique advantages of crossing the east and west, connecting the north and south, and connecting rivers and seas. It should play a greater role in promoting high-quality development, shaping new driving forces and advantages for development, and accelerating the construction of a new development pattern. From our own development practice, the ecological environment protection and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Basin are currently in a critical period of transformation from quantitative to qualitative. The achievements are not yet stable, and objectively, there are still many difficulties and problems that need to be further addressed. Only by further enhancing the sense of mission and responsibility, maintaining strategic focus, enhancing work initiative, and being brave in overcoming difficulties, can we continuously push the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt to a new level. Concept is the precursor of action, and whether the development concept is right fundamentally determines the effectiveness and even the success or failure of development. To further promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, it is necessary to fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development concept, consciously implementing it throughout the entire process and various fields of work. We must unwaveringly adhere to joint efforts in major protection and development, and make greater efforts in high-level protection. We must adhere to innovation leading development, and transform the scientific research and talent advantages of the Yangtze River Economic Belt into development advantages. We must better connect domestic and international markets and make good use of two types of resources. We must adhere to strengthening regional coordination and integration as the focus.
