On October 8th, a freight train carrying Southeast Asian fruits, rubber and other products, as well as Yunnan specialty goods, departed from Wangjiaying West Station in Kunming, Yunnan Province and is expected to arrive in Shanghai in 82 hours. This marks the official launch of the international freight train "Shanghai Yunnan Lancang Mekong Line". The "Shanghai Yunnan Lancang Mekong Line" international freight train is built by relying on the China Laos Railway and the Shanghai Kunming Railway to realize the two-way opening of Shanghai Kunming Vientiane, Laos. The "Shanghai Yunnan Lancang Mekong Line" international freight train is another demonstration project of Shanghai Yunnan cooperation. It connects the eastern coastal areas, inland areas, western borders of China and the markets of Southeast Asian countries, improves the transport capacity of the China Laos railway, reduces the freight transport costs, and strongly drives the economic and trade development of regions along the railway.
