The first internationally leading high-resolution remote sensing AI satellite in Hong Kong, "Hong Kong Star," was developed, assembled, tested, and taken offline on the 20th at the satellite manufacturing center within the Advanced Manufacturing Center of the Tseung Kwan O Innovation Park in Hong Kong Science Park. It is planned to be launched by the end of November. The "Hong Kong Star" weighs about 80 kilograms and is equipped with a high-resolution optical camera, which can provide global sub meter level visible light remote sensing images. It can achieve various satellite applications and provide high-precision remote sensing big data information for the global Internet of Things, disaster prevention and reduction, emergency safety, remote sensing perception, smart city construction and other fields, which is conducive to promoting the high-quality development of Hong Kong's economy and society. The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Sun Dong, attended the "Hong Kong Star" offline ceremony and delivered a speech, stating that this research and development will be of great help to the development of Hong Kong's digital economy and smart city construction. In recent years, the SAR government has done a lot of work in promoting the development of innovation and technology, proposing a series of policy measures in gathering talents and supporting start-up enterprises, which are helpful for the construction of Hong Kong's local technology industry and deepening the development of Hong Kong's new industrialization. It is reported that "Hong Kong Star" is developed by the "Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Center" affiliated with Hong Kong New Space Group Co., Ltd.
